حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ قَالَ: نَا مُعْتَمِرٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:
لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ دَعَا النَّاسَ، فَطَعِمُوا، فَأَخَذَ كَأَنَّهُ يَتَهَيَّأُ لِلْقِيَامِ، فَقَامَ مَنْ قَامَ، وَجَلَسَ نَفَرٌ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ قَامَ، ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ قَامُوا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ، فَأَخْبَرْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَجَاءَ، فَذَهَبْتُ أَدْخُلُ، فَأَلْقَى الْحِجَابَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ " قَالَ: وَأُنْزِلَتْ آيَةُ الْحِجَابِ، قَرَأَهَا فَإِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَانْتَشِرُوا
Translation

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Zaynab bt. Jahsh, he invited the people and they ate. Then he made as if to get up, so those who were going to leave got up, but a group remained seated. When he saw that, he got up, and then they left after that. I informed the Prophet ﷺ, and he came. I went to enter, but he let down the veil between me and him." He said: "And the verse of the veil was revealed. He recited it: 'Then when you have eaten, disperse.'
