✧ Verses were abrogated from this surah, meaning Surat al-Ma'idah: the verse of the necklaces, and His saying: 'So judge between them or turn away from them.' He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given a choice: if he wished he could judge between them, and if he wished he could turn away from them and return them to their own rulings. Then it was revealed: 'And judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires.' He was commanded to judge between them according to our Book.
