حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ غُلَامًا لَهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ، وَكَانَ مُحْتَاجًا، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَدَعَاهُ، فَقَالَ: أَعْتَقْتَ غُلَامَكَ ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَنْتَ أَحْوَجُ إِلَيْهِ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " مَنْ يَشْتَرِيهِ ؟ " فَقَالَ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ: أَنَا، فَاشْتَرَاهُ، فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَمَنَهُ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى صَاحِبِهِ

✧ A man from the Ansar set free a slave of his upon his death, and he was in need. That was mentioned to the Messenger of God ﷺ, so he called him and said, "Did you free your slave?" He said, "Yes, O Messenger of God." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You are more in need of him." Then he said, "Who will buy him?" Nuaym b. Abdullah said, "I will." So he bought him. The Prophet ﷺ took his price and gave it to his owner.
