✧ A man came to Umar and said, 'I have divorced my wife irrevocably while she was menstruating.' Umar said, 'You have disobeyed your Lord and separated from your wife.' The man said, 'But did not the Messenger of Allah ﷺ command Ibn Umar, when he separated from his wife, to take her back?' Umar said to him, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded him to take her back because he still had a divorce remaining, but you have nothing left with which to take your wife back.'
