✧ A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me a deed which, if I do it, I will enter Paradise.' He said: 'Do not associate anything with Allah, even if you are punished and burned. Obey your parents, even if they turn you out of your wealth and all that is yours. Do not deliberately abandon prayer, for whoever deliberately abandons prayer, Allah's protection is free from him. Do not drink wine, for it is the key to every evil. Do not contend with the people of authority over their affair, even if you think it is yours. Spend from your surplus on your family, and do not lift your staff from them; keep them in awe of Allah.'
