حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، نَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
مَنْ قَضَى نَهْمَتَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا حِيلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ شَهْوَتِهِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ، وَمَنْ مَدَّ عَيْنَهُ إِلَى زِينَةِ الْمُتْرَفِينَ كَانَ مَهِينًا فِي مَلَكُوتِ الدُّنْيَا، وَمَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى الْقُوتِ الشَّدِيدِ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا أَسْكَنَهُ اللهُ مِنَ الْفِرْدَوْسِ حَيْثُ شَاءَ
Translation

✧ Whoever fulfills his desires in this world will be barred from his desires in the Hereafter. Whoever casts his eye toward the adornment of the luxurious will be despised in the dominion of this world. Whoever patiently endures severe hardship with beautiful patience, God will settle him in Firdaws wherever He wills.
