حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، نَا الْخَضِرُ بْنُ أَخْرَمَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثَنَا الْجَارُودُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

إِنَّ النَّفْسَ مَلُولَةٌ، وَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَا يَدْرِي مَا قَدْرُ الْمُدَّةِ، فَلْيَنْظُرْ مِنَ الْعِبَادَةِ مَا يُطِيقُ، ثُمَّ لِيُدَاوِمْ عَلَيْهِ، فَإِنَّ أَحَبَّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللهِ مَا دِيمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

✧ Indeed the soul becomes weary, and one of you does not know the extent of the period, so let him look to what worship he is able to bear, then let him persist in it, for the most beloved deeds to Allah are those done persistently, even if they are few.
