✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ consulted the Muslims about what would gather them for prayer. They said, “The horn,” but he disliked it because of the Jews. Then they mentioned the bell, but he disliked it because of the Christians. That night, the call was shown to a man from the Ansar called ‘Abd Allah b. Zayd, and to ‘Umar b. al-Khattab. The Ansari went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at night, “and the Prophet of Allah ﷺ commanded Bilal, and he gave the call to prayer with it.” ‘Umar said, “Indeed, I saw the like of what he saw, but he preceded me.”
