حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ قَالَ: نَا الْفَيْضُ بْنُ وَثِيقٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ بْنُ يَعْلَى الطَّائِفِيُّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ. عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:

قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، وَبِيَدِهِ كِتَابٌ، فَقَالَ: لَأُعْطِيَنَّ هَذَا الْكِتَابَ رَجُلًا يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، وَيُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، قُمْ يَا عُثْمَانُ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ". فَقَامَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَيْهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood on the pulpit with a letter in his hand and said, "I will surely give this letter to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and whom Allah and His Messenger love. Stand, O Uthman b. Abi al-As." Uthman b. Abi al-As stood, and he handed it to him.
