✧ A group of people passed by Jesus son of Mary ﷺ, and he said: "One of these will die today, if Allah wills." They went on, then returned to him in the evening carrying bundles of firewood. He said: "Put them down." Then he said to the one about whom he had said he would die that day: "Untie your bundle of firewood." He untied it, and in it there was a black snake. He asked: "What did you do today?" He said: "I did nothing." He said: "Consider what you did." He said: "I did nothing, except that I had a piece of bread in my hand and a poor person passed by me and asked me, and I gave him part of it." He said: "By that it was warded off from you."
