وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ، عَنْ مُبَارَكِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ قَالَ:

أُتِيَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ عَامَ حَجَّ بِثَرِيدَةٍ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ هَذَا الْحَجَلِ، أَصَابَهُ أَهْلُ الْحِلِّ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ: إِنَّ عَلِيًّا يَكْرَهُ هَذَا. فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ، فَدَعَاهُ، فَكَانَ يُصْلِحُ خَبَطًا لَهُ، فَنَفَضَ يَدَهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُثْمَانُ: لَا تَزَالُ تُخَالِفُ فِي شَيْءٍ، يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّكَ تَقُولُ لَا يَصْلُحُ هَذَا، فَغَضِبَ عَلِيٌّ، وَقَالَ: لِهَذَا تَقُولُ لِي تُخَالِفُ، أَنْشُدُ بِاللهِ مَنْ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ عَامَ حَجَّ، وَأُتِيَ بِرِجْلِ حِمَارٍ وَحْشِيٍّ، فَقَالَ: " أَطْعِمُوهُ أَهْلَ الْحِلِّ، فَإِنَّا مُحْرِمُونَ " ؟ فَقَامَ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، فَشَهِدُوا لَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَنْشُدُ بِاللهِ مَنْ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ عَامَ حَجَّ، وَأُتِيَ بِبَيْضِ نَعَامٍ: أَطْعِمُوهُ أَهْلَ الْحِلِّ، فَإِنَّا مُحْرِمُونَ ؟ فَقَامَ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، فَشَهِدُوا لَهُ، فَتَفَرَّقُوا عَنْ تِلْكَ الْقَصْعَةِ

✧ In the year he performed Hajj, Uthman b. Affan ؓ was brought a tharidah containing some of this sandgrouse that the people outside the sanctuary had obtained. Some of the people said, 'Ali dislikes this.' So he sent for Ali and invited him. He was mending some of his fodder, so he shook off his hand and then came. Uthman said to him, 'You never cease to disagree about something. They claim that you say this is not permissible.' Ali became angry and said, 'Is it about this that you tell me I disagree? I adjure by God anyone who heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say in the year he performed Hajj, when he was brought the leg of a wild donkey, "Feed it to the people outside the sanctuary, for we are in ihram." More than one person stood up and testified for him. Then he said, 'I adjure by God anyone who heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say in the year he performed Hajj, when he was brought ostrich eggs: "Feed them to the people outside the sanctuary, for we are in ihram." More than one person stood up and testified for him. Then they dispersed from that bowl.'
