✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ had ordered for me a portion of dates that was with a man from the Ansar, but he delayed giving it to me. I spoke to the Messenger of God ﷺ about it. He said: 'Go with him, O Abu Bakr, and get his dates for him.' He said: 'Abu Bakr promised to meet me at the mosque when we prayed the morning prayer. I found him where he had promised, and we set off. Whenever a man saw Abu Bakr from afar, he would greet him. Abu Bakr said: 'Do you see what virtue the people are bestowing upon you? No one beats you to the greeting.' He said: 'So whenever a man appeared, we would hasten to greet him before he greeted us.'
