حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

أَنَّ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّةً يَوْمَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّكَ تَحُثُّ عَلَى صِلَةِ الرَّحِمِ، وَالْإِحْسَانِ فِي الْجَارِ، وَإِيوَاءِ الْيَتِيمِ، وَإِطْعَامِ الضَّيْفِ، وَإِطْعَامِ الْمَسَاكِينِ، وَكُلُّ هَذَا كَانَ هِشَامُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ يَفْعَلُهُ، فَمَا ظَنُّكَ بِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كُلُّ قَبْرٍ قُبِرَ لَا يَشْهَدُ صَاحِبُهُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَهُوَ جَذْوَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَقَدْ وَجَدْتُ عَمِّيَ أَبَا طَالِبٍ فِي طَمْطَامٍ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَأَخْرَجَهُ اللهُ لِمَكَانِهِ مِنِّي وَإِحْسَانِهِ إِلَيَّ، فَجَعَلَهُ فِي ضَحْضَاحٍ مِنَ النَّارِ ".

✧ Al-Harith b. Hisham came to the Prophet ﷺ once on the day of the Farewell Pilgrimage and said: O Messenger of God, you urge maintaining ties of kinship, kindness to neighbors, sheltering orphans, feeding guests, and feeding the poor. All of this Hisham b. al-Mughira used to do. What do you think of him, O Messenger of God? The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Every grave whose occupant does not bear witness that there is no god but God is a brand of fire. I found my uncle Abu Talib in a flood of fire, and God brought him out because of his closeness to me and his kindness to me, and placed him in a shallow part of the fire.
