حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابَانَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْبَلْخِيُّ، ثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، نَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَعَدَ الْعَبَّاسَ ذَوْدًا مِنْ إِبِلٍ، فَبَعَثَنِي إِلَيْهِ، فَبِتُّ عِنْدَهُ، وَكَانَتْ لَيْلَةَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ، فَنَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ غَيْرَ كَثِيرٍ، فَتَوَسَّدْتُ الْوِسَادَةَ الَّتِي تَوَسَّدَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، ثُمَّ قَامَ ﷺ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَأَسْبَغَ الْوُضُوءَ، وَأَقَلَّ هَرَاقَةَ الْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَافْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَقُمْتُ فَتَوَضَّأْتُ، فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، فَأَخْلَفَ بِيَدِهِ فَأَخَذَ بِأُذُنِي فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَكَانَتْ مَيْمُونَةُ حَائِضًا، فَقَامَتْ فَتَوَضَّأَتْ، ثُمَّ قَعَدَتْ خَلْفَهُ تَذْكُرُ اللهَ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ had promised al-ʿAbbās a small herd of camels. He sent me to him, so I spent the night at his place. It was the night of Maymūna bt. al-Ḥārith. The Prophet ﷺ slept for only a little while. I rested my head on the pillow that the Messenger of God ﷺ had used. Then the Prophet ﷺ got up, performed ablution, made it thorough, and used only a small amount of water. Then he stood and began the prayer. I got up, performed ablution, and stood on his left. He reached back with his hand, took hold of my ear, and made me stand on his right. Maymūna was menstruating; she got up, performed ablution, and sat behind him remembering God.
