✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man praying while seated. He said: Whoever prays standing, that is better; whoever prays seated has half the reward of the one standing; and whoever prays lying down has half the reward of the one seated.

machine translationAs for his statement, "Whoever prays lying down will have half the reward of the one who prays sitting," its meaning is not sound according to the scholars, because they are unanimously agreed that a person who is able to stand may not pray a voluntary prayer by gesturing. Rather, the error entered through the one who transmitted the hadith.
