حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثَنَا مُطَهَّرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مَطَرٌ الْوَرَّاقُ، عَنْ أُمِّ السَّائِبِ

أَنَّهَا دَخَلَتْ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَمَعَهَا عُودٌ تَتْبَعُ الْوَزَغَ فَتَقْتُلُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا شَأْنُ هَذَا الْوَزَغِ ؟ فَقَالَتْ: " لَمَّا أُلْقِيَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ فِي النَّارِ كَانَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَرُدُّ غَيْرَ هَذَا، فَأُمِرْنَا بِقَتْلِهِ

✧ She entered upon Aishah, the Mother of the Believers, with her was a stick, chasing the gecko to kill it. I said: O Mother of the Believers, what is the matter with this gecko? She said: When Ibrahim was thrown into the fire, everything would repel it except this one, so we were commanded to kill it.
