✧ From Ibn ʿUmar, that he proposed marriage to the daughter of Nuʿaym b. ʿAbd Allah al-ʿAdawi al-Nahham, and she was a virgin. Nuʿaym said to him: “I have an orphan under my care, and I will not prefer anyone over him.” The mother of the girl, the wife of Nuʿaym, went out until she came to the Prophet ﷺ and told him about that, and she informed the Prophet ﷺ of her own and her daughter's aversion to the orphan. The Prophet ﷺ sent for her father and said: “Make her and her daughter content.”
