حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ جَنَّادٍ، نَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِيدَانَ قَالَ:

كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ بِعَرَفَةَ، فَصَلَّى عُثْمَانُ الظُّهْرَ أَرْبَعًا، وَالْعَصْرَ أَرْبَعًا، فَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: " هَاهُنَا صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ، فَمَا صَلَّوْا إِلَّا رَكْعَتَيْنِ " قُلْتُ: أَفَلَا تَقُومُ إِلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ: اسْكُتْ فَإِنَّ الْخِلَافَ شَرٌّ

✧ I was with Ibn Mas'ud at Arafah, and Uthman prayed Zuhr as four rak'ahs and Asr as four rak'ahs. Ibn Mas'ud said: "Here I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and with Abu Bakr and Umar, and they did not pray except two rak'ahs." I said: "Will you not go to him?" He said: "Be quiet, for disagreement is evil."
