حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، ثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ، ثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ دُرَيْكٍ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، قَالَ:

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَجَّهَ سَرِيَّةً، فَوَدَّعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ لِي رَجُلٌ كَانَ يَرْكَبُ عَلَى رَحْلٍ: لَسْتُ أَخْرُجُ أَوْ تَجْعَلَ لِي ثَلَاثَةَ دَنَانِيرَ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَعُودَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَمَا وَدَّعْتُهُ، فَجَعَلْتُهَا، فَلَمَّا قَضَيْتُ غَزَاتِي أَخْبَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: أَعْطِهَا إِيَّاهُ، هِيَ حَظُّهُ مِنْ غَزَاتِهِ فِي دُنْيَاهُ وَآخِرَتِهِ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had dispatched a military detachment, so I bade farewell to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. A man who was riding on a saddle said to me: 'I will not go out unless you give me three dinars.' I disliked returning to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after I had bidden him farewell, so I gave them to him. When I completed my military expedition, I informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: 'Give them to him; they are his share of his expedition in this world and the Hereafter.'
