✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on Mount Hira, and it shook with them. The Prophet ﷺ struck it with his foot and said: "Be still, for upon you are a Prophet, a Siddiq, and two martyrs." Upon it were the Prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationQatādah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Saʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah, Maṭar al-Warrāq and ʿImrān al-Qaṭṭān narrated it from Qatādah from Anas, and likewise it was said from Shuʿbah from Qatādah from Anas, but that is not established from Shuʿbah. Maʿmar narrated it from Qatādah as a mursal report. Sulaymān al-Taymī narrated it from Qatādah from Abū Ghallāb from a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ from the Prophet ﷺ. The correct view is the view of Ibn Abī ʿArūbah and those who followed him in narrating from Anas.

    in المعجم الأوسط, p. 6572
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThis is closer to the correct view, even though Saʿīd was a retainer (ḥāfiẓ), unless Qatādah had both chains of transmission.

    in المعجم الأوسط, p. 6572

machine translationSaʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah was a better memorizer than al-Taymī. I said: So that is the sound one? He said: Yes.
