حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُزَيْقِ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، نَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْهِلَالِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي شَكَاتِهِ الَّتِي قُبِضَ فِيهَا، فَإِذَا فَاطِمَةُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ، قَالَ: فَبَكَتْ حَتَّى ارْتَفَعَ صَوْتُهَا، فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ طَرْفَهُ إِلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ: " حَبِيبَتِي فَاطِمَةُ، مَا الَّذِي يُبْكِيكِ ؟ " قَالَتْ: أَخْشَى الضَّيْعَةَ مِنْ بَعْدِكَ، قَالَ: يَا حَبِيبَتِي أَمَا عَلِمْتِ أَنَّ اللهَ اطَّلَعَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ اطِّلَاعَةً، فَاخْتَارَ مِنْهَا أَبَاكِ فَبَعَثَهُ بِرِسَالَتِهِ، ثُمَّ اطَّلَعَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ اطِّلَاعَةً فَاخْتَارَ مِنْهَا بَعْلَكِ، وَأَوْحَى إِلَيَّ أَنْ أُنْكِحَكِ إِيَّاهُ، يَا فَاطِمَةُ وَنَحْنُ أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ قَدْ أَعْطَانَا اللهُ سَبْعَ خِصَالٍ، لَمْ يُعْطِ أَحَدًا قَبْلَنَا، وَلَا تُعْطَى أَحَدٌ بَعْدَنَا: أَنَا خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ وَأَكْرَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ عَلَى اللهِ، وَأَحَبُّ الْمَخْلُوقِينَ إِلَى اللهِ، وَأَنَا أَبُوكِ، وَوَصِيِّي خَيْرُ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ، وَأَحَبُّهُمْ إِلَى اللهِ، وَهُوَ بَعْلُكِ، وَشَهِيدُنَا خَيْرُ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَأَحَبُّهُمْ إِلَى اللهِ، وَهُوَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَهُوَ عَمُّ أَبِيكِ وَعَمُّ بَعْلِكِ، وَمِنَّا مَنْ لَهُ جَنَاحَانِ أَخْضَرَانِ، يَطِيرُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مَعَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ حَيْثُ يَشَاءُ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمِّ أَبِيكِ، وَأَخُو بَعْلِكِ، وَمِنَّا سِبْطَا هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ، وَهُمَا ابْنَاكِ الْحَسَنُ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ، وَهُمَا سَيِّدَا شَبَابِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَأَبُوهُمَا وَالَّذِي بَعَثَنِي بِالْحَقِّ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُمَا. يَا فَاطِمَةُ، وَالَّذِي بَعَثَنِي بِالْحَقِّ إِنَّ مِنْهُمَا لمَهْدِيَّ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ إِذَا صَارَتِ الدُّنْيَا هَرْجَ وَمَرْجَ، وَتَظَاهَرَتِ الْفِتَنُ، وَتَقَطَّعَتِ السُّبُلُ، وَأَغَارَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ، فَلَا كَبِيرَ يَرْحَمُ الصَّغِيرَ، وَلَا صَغِيرَ يُوَقِّرُ الْكَبِيرَ، فَيَبْعَثُ اللهُ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُمَا مَنْ يَفْتَحُ حُصُونَ الضَّلَالَةِ، وَقُلُوبًا غُلْفًا يَهْدِمُهَا هَدْمًا، يَقُومُ بِالدِّينِ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ كَمَا قُمْتُ بِهِ فِي أَوَّلِ الزَّمَانِ، يَمْلَأُ الدُّنْيَا عَدْلًا كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا، يَا فَاطِمَةُ، لَا تَحْزَنِي وَلَا تَبْكِي، فَإِنَّ اللهَ أَرْحَمُ بِكِ وَأَرْأَفُ عَلَيْكِ مِنِّي، وَذَلِكَ لِمَكَانِكِ مِنِّي وَمَوْقِعِكِ مِنْ قَلْبِي، وَزَوَّجَكِ اللهُ زَوْجَكِ وَهُوَ أَشْرَفُ أَهْلِ بَيْتِي حَسَبًا، وَأَكْرَمُهُمْ مَنْصِبًا، وَأَرْحَمُهُمْ بِالرَّعِيَّةِ، وَأَعْدَلُهُمْ بِالسَّوِيَّةِ، وَأَبْصَرُهُمْ بِالْقَضِيَّةِ، وَقَدْ سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي أَنْ تَكُونِي أَوَّلَ مَنْ يَلْحَقُنِي مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِي " قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ: " فَلَمَّا قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَمْ تَبْقَ فَاطِمَةُ بَعْدَهُ إِلَّا خَمْسَةً وَسَبْعِينَ يَوْمًا حَتَّى أَلْحَقَهَا اللهُ بِهِ ﷺ

✧ I entered upon the Messenger of God ﷺ during his illness in which he was taken, and there was Fatimah at his head. He said: She wept until her voice rose, so the Messenger of God ﷺ raised his glance to her and said, "My beloved Fatimah, what makes you weep?" She said, "I fear the loss after you." He said, "O my beloved, do you not know that God looked upon the earth with a look and chose from it your father, then sent him with His message? Then He looked upon the earth with a look and chose from it your husband, and revealed to me that I should marry you to him. O Fatimah, we are a household to whom God has given seven qualities that He has not given to anyone before us, nor will He give to anyone after us: I am the Seal of the Prophets and the noblest of the prophets before God, and the most beloved of creatures to God, and I am your father. My successor is the best of successors and the most beloved of them to God, and he is your husband. Our martyr is the best of martyrs and the most beloved of them to God, and he is Hamzah b. 'Abd al-Muttalib, and he is the paternal uncle of your father and the paternal uncle of your husband. And among us is one who has two green wings, flying in Paradise with the angels wherever he wishes, and he is the cousin of your father and the brother of your husband. And among us are the two grandsons of this community, and they are your two sons, al-Hasan and al-Husayn, and they are the masters of the youths of the people of Paradise, and their father—by the One who sent me with the truth—is better than them. O Fatimah, by the One who sent me with the truth, from them is the Mahdi of this community when the world becomes chaos and confusion, and trials become widespread, and paths are cut off, and people attack one another, so no elder has mercy on a child, nor does a child honor an elder. At that time, God will send from them one who opens the fortresses of misguidance and sealed hearts, demolishing them completely. He will uphold the religion at the end of time just as I upheld it at the beginning of time. He will fill the earth with justice just as it was filled with oppression. O Fatimah, do not grieve and do not weep, for God is more merciful and compassionate to you than I am, because of your place with me and your position in my heart. And God has married you to your husband, who is the noblest of my household in lineage, the most honorable of them in status, the most merciful of them to the subjects, the most just of them in equity, and the most insightful of them in judgment. And I have asked my Lord that you be the first of my household to join me." 'Ali b. Abi Talib said: "When the Prophet ﷺ was taken, Fatimah did not remain after him except seventy-five days until God joined her to him ﷺ."
