حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، نَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي قُرَادٍ السَّلَمِيِّ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَعَا بِطَهُورٍ، فَغَمَسَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ، فَتَتَبَّعْنَاهُ، فَحَسَوْنَاهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَا حَمَلَكُمْ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتُمْ ؟ " قُلْنَا: حُبُّ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ، قَالَ: " فَإِنْ أَحْبَبْتُمْ أَنْ يُحِبَّكُمُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فَأَدُّوا إِذَا ائْتُمِنْتُمْ، وَاصْدُقُوا إِذَا حَدَّثْتُمْ، وَأَحْسِنُوا جِوَارَ مَنْ جَاوَرَكُمْ

✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ when he called for water for purification, dipped his hand in it, then performed ablution. We followed him and drank the leftover water. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: What made you do what you did? We said: Love of God and His Messenger. He said: If you love that God and His Messenger love you, then fulfill trusts when you are entrusted, be truthful when you speak, and be good to those who neighbor you.
