وَبِهِ قَالَ:

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ، فَأَسْقَطَ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَالَ أُبَيُّ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنُسِخَتْ آيَةُ كَذَا وَكَذَا ؟ قَالَ: " لَا "، قَالَ: فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تَقْرَأْهَا، قَالَ: " أَفَلَا لَقَّنْتَهَا

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer one day and omitted a surah from the Quran. When he finished his prayer, Ubayy said: O Messenger of Allah, has such and such verse been abrogated? He said: 'No.' Ubayy said: But you did not recite it. He said: 'Why did you not prompt me with it?'
