✧ A gift of food was given to me and to Hafsa, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, while we were fasting. One of us said to the other: Would you like to break the fast? She said: Yes. So we broke our fast. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ entered upon us, and we said: O Messenger of God, a gift was given to us, and we desired it, so we broke our fast. The Prophet ﷺ said: No harm upon you two; fast a day in its place.
