✧ I came with my mother Qurayra bt. al-Harith al-Utwariyya among women of the Emigrants, and we gave allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he had a tent pitched at al-Abtah. He took from us that we should not associate anything with Allah—the entire verse. When we affirmed and extended our hands to give him allegiance, the Prophet ﷺ said: "I do not touch the hands of women." So he sought forgiveness for us, and that was our allegiance.
