حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ الْأُبُلِّيُّ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بُرَيْدٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْجَرْمِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا السَّمَيْدَعُ بْنُ وَاهِبٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ الْأَصْفَرِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:
لَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ، قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " بِمَا أَهْلَلْتَ ؟ " قَالَ: بِإِهْلَالِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَوْلَا أَنَّ مَعِيَ هَدْيًا لَأَحْلَلْتُ

✧ When Ali b. Abi Talib ؓ arrived from Yemen, the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'With what did you enter ihram?' He said: 'With the same as the Prophet ﷺ.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Were it not that I have a sacrificial animal with me, I would have exited ihram.'
