حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبْدُوسٍ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ الْأَرْمَنِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّبَعِيُّ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ جَبِيرَةَ بْنِ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ أَبِي جَبِيرَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي جَبِيرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

الْوَلَدُ سَيِّدٌ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ، وَعَبْدٌ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ، وَوَزِيرٌ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ، فَإِنْ رَضِيتَ مُكَانَفَتَهُ لِإِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ، وَإِلَّا فَاضْرِبْ عَلَى جَنْبِهِ، فَقَدِ اعْتَذَرْتَ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

✧ The child is a master for seven years, a servant for seven years, and a minister for seven years. If you are satisfied with his assistance by twenty-one, then fine; otherwise, strike his side, for you have excused yourself before Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
