✧ Ahmad b. al-Qasim b. Musawir al-Jawhari

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُسَاوِرٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ: نَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ. عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:

الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ، وَتُصُدِّقَ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ بِلَحْمٍ، فَأَهْدَتْ مِنْهُ لِعَائِشَةَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " هُوَ عَلَيْهَا صَدَقَةٌ، وَلَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ

✧ Loyalty belongs to the one who frees, and meat was given as charity to Barira, and she gifted some of it to Aisha, so the Prophet ﷺ said: "It is charity for her, and a gift for us."
