حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزْدَادَ التَّوَّزِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَسَدِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لُدِغَ، فَبَلَغَ مِنْهُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَوْ قَالَ حِينَ يُمْسِي - أَوْ: أَمْسَى -: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ، ثَلَاثًا، لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ

Translation

✧ A man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ was stung, and it afflicted him as much as Allah willed. That reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: Indeed, had he said when evening came – or: in the evening – 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,' three times, it would not have harmed him.
