✧ A son was born to Sulayman b. Dawud, and he said to the devils: Where can we hide him from death? They said: We will take him to the east. He said: Death will reach him. They said: Then to the west. He said: Death will reach him. They said: To the seas. He said: It will reach him. They said: We will place him between heaven and earth. Then the Angel of Death descended and said: O son of Dawud, I was commanded to take a soul. I sought it in the east and did not find it; I sought it in the west and did not find it; I sought it in the seas and in the ends of the earth and did not find it. While I was ascending, I found it and took it. Then his body came and fell upon his throne. That is the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: 'And We certainly tried Sulayman and placed on his throne a body; then he turned in repentance.'
