حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقَزَّازُ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ أَبُو عَتَّابٍ الدَّلَّالُ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْمُخْتَارُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

رَحِمَ اللهُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ، زَوَّجَنِي ابْنَتَهُ، وَحَمَلَنِي إِلَى دَارِ الْهِجْرَةِ، وَاشْتَرَى بِلَالًا مِنْ مَالِهِ، رَحِمَ اللهُ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ الْحَقَّ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُرًّا، تَرَكَهُ الْحَقُّ وَمَا لَهُ مِنْ صَدِيقٍ، رَحِمَ اللهُ عُثْمَانَ، إِنَّهُ لَتَسْتَحِي مِنْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ، رَحِمَ اللهُ عَلِيًّا، اللَّهُمَّ أَدِرِ الْحَقَّ مَعَهُ حَيْثُ دَارَ.

✧ May God have mercy on Abu Bakr. He gave me his daughter in marriage, carried me to the abode of emigration, and bought Bilal with his own wealth. May God have mercy on Umar. He speaks the truth even if it is bitter; the truth has left him with no friend. May God have mercy on Uthman, for the angels are shy of him. May God have mercy on Ali. O God, let the truth revolve with him wherever he turns.
