✧ The Prophet ﷺ was sitting after Maghrib, and his companions were with him, when a caravan passed by traveling. Their driver was reciting, and their leader was chanting. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw them, he stood up and hurried without a cloak. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we will suffice you." He said: "Let me convey to them what was revealed to me concerning their affair." He caught up with them and said: "Where do you intend to go at this hour?" They said: "We intend to go to Yemen." He said: "What is your traveling at this hour? For Allah has a great authority in the heaven that He directs to the earth. So do not travel even a step except what a man finds in his stomach and bladder of urine that he cannot avoid, and then not even a step. As for you, O driver of the people, you should use some of the speech of the Arabs from its rajaz, and when you are riding, recite it. And you should travel by night, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has angels appointed who fold the earth for the traveler as papers are folded. And after dawn, the people praise the night journey. Let no poet accompany you, nor a soothsayer, nor a stray animal. Do not turn away a beggar if you desire profit, safety, and good companionship. I am amazed how I can sleep when all eyes sleep, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and His Messenger forbid you from traveling at this hour."
