✧ Cloaks were brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and he distributed them among his companions. My father Makhrama said to me: “Come with me to him; perhaps he will give us something from them.” He went to the door and said: “Here he is.” The Prophet ﷺ heard his voice and came out to him with a cloak. It is as if I can see him showing my father the fine qualities of the cloak and saying: “I kept this for you.” Salih b. Hatim said: I said to my father: “Why did the Prophet ﷺ do this for Makhrama?” He said: “It was as if to guard against his tongue.”
