حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ: نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

قَرَأْنَاهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سِنِينَ: وَالَّذِينَ لا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ إِلا بِالْحَقِّ وَلا يَزْنُونَ، الْآيَةَ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَتْ: إِلا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ، فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَرِحَ فَرَحًا قَطُّ أَشَدَّ فَرَحًا مِنْهُ بِهَا، وَبِ - إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا

✧ We recited it during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ for years: 'And those who do not call upon another god besides God, and do not kill the soul which God has forbidden except by right, and do not commit adultery' - the verse - then it was revealed: 'Except for one who repents and believes,' and I never saw the Messenger of God ﷺ rejoice with any joy more intense than his joy at it, and at 'Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory.'
