حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

دَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ، فَإِذَا شَيْطَانٌ خَلْفَ الْبَابِ، فَخَنَقْتُهُ حَتَّى وَجَدْتُ بَرْدَ لِسَانِهِ عَلَى يَدَيَّ، فَلَوْلَا دَعْوَةُ الْعَبْدِ الصَّالِحِ لَأَصْبَحَ مَرْبُوطًا يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ

✧ I entered the House, and there was a devil behind the door. I choked him until I felt the coldness of his tongue on my hand. Were it not for the supplication of the righteous servant, he would have remained tied up for people to see.
