حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بُرَيْدٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

يَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي الْمَهْدِيُّ، إِنْ قُصِرَ فَسَبْعٌ وَإِلَّا فَثَمَانٍ، وَإِلَّا فَتِسْعٌ، تَنْعَمُ أُمَّتِي فِيهِ نِعْمَةً لَمْ يَنْعَمُوا مِثَلَهَا، يُرْسِلُ اللهُ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِدْرَارًا، وَلَا تَدَّخِرُ الْأَرْضُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ النَّبَاتِ، وَالْمَالُ كُدُوسٌ يَقُومُ الرَّجُلُ فَيَقُولُ: يَا مَهْدِيُّ، أَعْطِنِي فَيَقُولُ: خُذْهُ

✧ In my Ummah there will be the Mahdi. If his reign is short, then seven; otherwise eight; otherwise nine. My Ummah will enjoy in it a blessing the like of which they have never enjoyed. God will send the sky upon them with abundant rain, and the earth will not withhold any of its vegetation, and wealth will be in heaps. A man will stand and say: O Mahdi, give me, and he will say: Take it.
