حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ: نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْكُرَيْزِيُّ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْعَالِمِ أَنْ يَسْكُتَ عَلَى عِلْمِهِ، وَلَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْجَاهِلِ أَنْ يَسْكُتَ عَلَى جَهْلِهِ، قَالَ اللهُ جَلَّ ذِكْرُهُ: فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لا تَعْلَمُونَ

✧ It is not proper for a scholar to remain silent about his knowledge, nor is it proper for an ignorant person to remain silent about his ignorance. Allah, majestic is His mention, said: 'Ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know.'
