حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الصَّائِغُ، نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا مُوسَى بْنُ شَيْبَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ - مِنْ وَلَدِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ - قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، وَمَحْمُودِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، قَالَا:

خَرَجْنَا يَوْمَ دَخَلَ حُبَيْشُ بْنُ دُلْجَةَ الْمَدِينَةَ بَعْدَ الْحَرَّةِ بِعَامٍ، فَدَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ حَتَّى ظَهْرَ الْمِنْبَرِ، فَفَزِعَ النَّاسُ فَخَرَجْنَا بِجَابِرٍ فِي الْحَرَّةِ، وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بَصَرُهُ، فَيَنْكُبُهُ الْحَجَرُ، فَقَالَ: أَخَافَ اللهُ مَنْ أَخَافَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ، - أَوْ ثَلَاثًا - قَبْلَ أَنْ نَسْأَلَهُ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا أَبَتَاهُ، وَمَنْ أَخَافَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ فَقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنْ أَخَافَ الْأَنْصَارَ فَقَدْ أَخَافَ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ مِنْ جَنْبَيْهِ

✧ We went out on the day Hubaysh b. Duljah entered Madinah a year after the Battle of al-Harrah. He entered Madinah and ascended the minbar, and the people were alarmed, so we went out with Jabir in the Harrah, and he had lost his sight, and a stone tripped him. He said: 'May Allah make fearful the one who made the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fearful.' He said it twice or three times before we asked him. We said: 'O our father, who made the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fearful?' He said: 'I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever frightens the Ansar has frightened what is between these two sides of me.'
