حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْجَوَّازُ قَالَ: نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ. عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ، فَأَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهَا:

مَنْ يَخْطُبُ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتَ عُقْبَةَ ؟ " فَقُلْتُ: فُلَانٌ وَفُلَانٌ. فَقَالَ: " أَيْنَ أَنْتُمْ مِنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ؟ فَإِنَّهُ سَيِّدُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَخِيَارُهُمْ

✧ "Who will propose to Umm Kulthum bt. Uqbah?" I said: 'So-and-so and so-and-so.' He said: 'Where are you regarding Abd al-Rahman b. Awf? For he is the leader of the Muslims and the best of them.'
