✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ emigrated, Zaynab bint the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked permission of Abu al-ʿĀṣ b. al-Rabīʿ, her husband, to go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he permitted her. She arrived to him. Then Abu al-ʿĀṣ followed her to Madinah and sent to her: 'Get me a guarantee of protection from your father.' She went out and looked out from the door of her room while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying the dawn prayer with the people, and she said: 'O people, I am Zaynab bint the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I have granted protection to Abu al-ʿĀṣ.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the prayer, he said: 'O people, I did not know of this until you heard it. Verily, the lowest of the Muslims may grant protection on behalf of the Muslims.'
