✧ He went to the mosque of Damascus, and he set out early for the midday rest. He met Shaddad b. Aws and al-Sunabihi with him. I said: 'Where are you heading, may Allah have mercy on you both?' They said: 'We are going here to a sick brother of ours to visit him.' So I went with them until we entered upon that man. They said: 'How has your morning been?' He said: 'I have entered the morning by the blessing of Allah and His grace.' Shaddad said: 'Rejoice, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Indeed Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: When I afflict a believing servant of Mine, and he praises Me and is patient over what I have afflicted him with, then he rises from his bed that day like the day his mother gave birth to him, free of sins. And the Lord, Mighty and Majestic, says to the guardian angels: I have made My servant patient and afflicted him, so record for him the reward you used to record for him before that when he was healthy."'
