✧ Regarding the saying of Allah: 'And when they hear what has been sent down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflow with tears,' he said: "They were sailors, meaning seamen, who came with Ja'far b. Abi Talib from Abyssinia. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the Quran to them, they believed and their eyes overflowed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Perhaps when you return to your land you will abandon your religion.' They said: 'We will never turn away from our religion.' So Allah sent down that concerning their statement."
