حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُصْعَبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:
كَشَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ سِتْرًا وَفَتَحَ بَابًا فِي مَرَضِهِ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَى النَّاسِ يُصَلُّونَ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَسُرَّ بِذَلِكَ وَقَالَ: " الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ، إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَمُتْ نَبِيٌّ حَتَّى يَؤُمَّهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ " ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ، فَقَالَ: " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، مَنْ أُصِيبَ مِنْكُمْ بِمُصِيبَةٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَلْيَتَعَزَّ بِمُصِيبَتِهِ بِي، عَنْ مُصِيبَتِهِ الَّتِي تُصِيبُهُ، فَإِنَّهُ لَنْ يُصَابَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي بِمِثْلِ مُصِيبَتِهِ بِي

✧ The Messenger of Allah drew back a curtain and opened a door during his illness, and he looked at the people praying behind Abu Bakr. He was pleased with that and said: 'Praise be to Allah. No prophet dies until a man from his ummah leads him in prayer.' Then he turned to the people and said: 'O people, whoever among you is afflicted with a calamity after me, let him console himself with his calamity of losing me over the calamity that befalls him, for no one of my ummah after me will be afflicted with the like of the calamity of losing me.'
