حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْأَشْعَثِ قَالَ: نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ: نَا أَبِي قَالَ: نَا الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَلِيحٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ ذِي حِمَايَةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:

أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَى شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَامَ فَخَطَبَنَا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا وَرَقَدُوا، وَأَنْتُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the ʿIsha prayer one night until half the night, then he came out and led us in prayer. When he finished, he stood and addressed us, saying: "The people have prayed and slept, while you are in prayer as long as you are waiting for the prayer."
