✧ He heard the Prophet ﷺ five [nights] before his death saying: “I had among you brothers and friends, and I declare myself free before God of having taken any of you as a bosom friend. If I were to take a bosom friend from my community, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a bosom friend. My Lord has taken me as a bosom friend, just as He took Ibrahim as a bosom friend. Indeed, those before you used to take the graves of their prophets as places of worship, and I forbid you from that.”
