✧ ʿUmar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I have acquired land at Khaybar; I have never acquired property more precious to me than it, so what do you command? He said: If you wish, you may hold its usufruct and give it as charity. He said: So ʿUmar held its usufruct and gave it as charity: it is not to be sold, nor given as gift, nor inherited; [its yield is] for the poor, for freeing slaves, for the cause of God, for the stranded traveler, and for the guest. There is no fault on the one who manages it if he eats from it in a fair manner and feeds a friend, without seeking to amass wealth from it.
