حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو شُرَحْبِيلَ عِيسَى بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ بْنُ أَخِي أَبِي الْيَمَانِ قَالَ: نَا عَمِّي أَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ:

سَمَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَفْسَهُ أَسْمَاءً، مِنْهَا مَا حَفِظْنَا، وَمِنْهَا مَا لَمْ نَحْفَظْ، قَالَ: أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، وَأَحْمَدُ، الْمُقَفِّي، وَالْحَاشِرُ، وَنَبِيُّ التَّوْبَةِ، وَنَبِيُّ الْمَلْحَمَةِ.

He said: “I am Muhammad, and Ahmad, al-Muqaffi (the one who follows the other prophets), al-Hashir (the gatherer), the Prophet of repentance, and the Prophet of the epic battle (al-malhamah).”
