✧ Shall I not lead you in prayer the way the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed? He called for water for ablution, performed ablution, then stood for prayer. He arranged men in rows and placed the boys behind them. He would say takbir when he prostrated, when he raised his head, and when he stood up from the two rak'ahs, and he would greet to his right and to his left.

machine translationShahr b. Ḥawshab narrates it from him. Qatādah, Budayl b. Maysarah and ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Bahrām narrated it from him, from Shahr. Dāwūd b. Abī Hind likewise narrated it, but there is disagreement about him. Ibn Fuḍayl, Khālid and Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth narrated it from Dāwūd, from Shahr, in agreement with Qatādah. ʿAbd al-Aʿlā differed from them: he narrated it from Ibn Dāwūd, from Shahr, from Abū Mālik, and did not mention [unclear]. The first account is the more correct (aṣaḥḥ).
