✧ A questioner asked him and said, “O Abu al-ʿAbbas, is there repentance for a killer?” Ibn ʿAbbas said, as if amazed at the matter, “What are you saying?” He repeated his question. He said to him, “What are you saying?” two or three times. Then Ibn ʿAbbas said, “How can there be repentance for him? I heard your Prophet ﷺ say: The slain person will come holding his head with one of his hands, seizing his killer with the other, his jugular veins gushing blood, until he brings him to the Throne. The slain person will say to the Lord of the worlds, ‘This one killed me.’ Allah will say to the killer, ‘May you perish,’ and he will be taken to the Fire.”
