✧ The sunnah is of two kinds: a sunnah within an obligatory act, and a sunnah outside an obligatory act. The sunnah that is within an obligatory act has its basis in the Book of Allah. Adhering to it is guidance and abandoning it is misguidance. The sunnah that has no basis in the Book of Allah—adhering to it is a virtue and abandoning it is not a sin.
